H2O Open 2026

The H2O Open moved to a new anchor date this year – June 6 at the Bassin Olympique – and the Phoenix Warriors opened their 2026 campaign with one of the closest finishes of the day.

In the 500m Community Mixed Final D, three boats crossed inside half a second of each other. The Phoenix Warriors took 2nd in 2:27.43, just 0.35 back of the winner and 0.07 ahead of third. That kind of margin is decided by one clean start, one committed finish, and twenty paddlers refusing to let the boat drop.

The crew had qualified out of Heat 2 in the morning with a 3rd-place 2:28.66 – then went faster when it counted, which is exactly what a race plan is supposed to do.

The day closed with the 1000m Community Mixed Final B, a 5:24.35 in a stacked field. Distance work is where the winter shows up, and it's the first target on the list for the rest of the season.
