Can-Am / Montreal International Dragon Boat Challenge 2026

Thirty years after the club first put a crew on the water, the Phoenix Warriors returned to the Olympic Basin for the Can-Am / Montreal International Dragon Boat Challenge – and left with medals around their necks.

The 200m was the statement race. Twenty strokes in, the boat found its timing and never gave it back, crossing in 0:58.98 for 3rd place in Final D. A sprint like that is won in the winter: in the gym, on the ergs, in every 6 a.m. practice nobody sees.

The 500m Final D followed with a 2:23.13 for 4th, and the crew closed the weekend with the 2000m Final B in 11:16.68 – four gruelling turns that tested every paddler's discipline and every drummer's call.

Race Results:

3rd Place – 200m Community Mixed Final D (0:58.98)

4th Place – 500m Community Mixed Final D (2:23.13)

5th Place – 2000m Community Mixed Final B (11:16.68)

To the veterans who keep showing up and the rookies who took their first race start this year: this is what the Phoenix stands for – rising, again and again. See you back on the water.
